How would you like to be able to get rid of an unsupportive emotion or headache like THAT?

“When I first heard about EFT, I thought it was a bunch of hocus pocus.
Now, I’ve always been into magic, buuuut for whatever reason, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes when my friend who was the tapping queen swore that it could cure everything. I thought that was a little overkill.
That is, until I finally worked with her and experienced the power myself.
I went from experiencing money blocks galore to making $32k in one month, which was my highest income month at the time by far.”
So, what exactly is EFT, and what makes it such a powerful tool to use yourself and with clients?
That’s what we dive into inside this blog post!
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a set of techniques designed to balance the energy system of the body, eliminating disempowering emotions, limiting beliefs, and self-sabotaging patterns.
EFT is based on the same scientifically-proven principles as acupuncture, but is able to easily be utilized anytime or any place without any equipment.
EFT is based on a more complex technique called TFT or Thought Field Therapy, created by Roger Callahan.
However, after taking Callahan’s course, EFT founder Gary Craig realized he could greatly simplify the procedure, and EFT was born.
With EFT, we balance the energy system of the body to relieve issues.
Imagine you took the back off your TV set. Inside, you would see wires, electronics, circuit boards, etc.
If you were to jam a screwdriver inside those electronics, you would disrupt the flow of the energy, and the TV would go “Zzzzt!” and the picture would fuzz out.
That’s the same thing that happens in your body when you experience a disempowering emotion.
EFT ideology states that the cause of all disempowering/unsupportive emotions is a disruption of the body’s energy system.
To experience a disempowering emotion, we first have a disempowering experience or a distressing memory. The energy system gets disrupted by that experience, and then we feel that disruption and consciously call it a “disempowering emotion.”
To balance this system, all we have to do is “tune into” the energy of the problem, and then balance that disruption by tapping on energy meridians in the body.
EFT is one powerful tool that supports us with facilitating many different shifts and breakthroughs for both ourselves and our clients like:
In fact, “Try it on everything” is the mantra in the field.
One of the best things about EFT is that you can teach it to your clients so that when they leave a session they’re empowered with a tool they can use themselves.
We love EFT because it’s a tool you can easily use in the moment—and when you use EFT you have to focus on the problem and associate with the problem state, so it’s best to use it when you are naturally experiencing the problem at hand vs pulling up a memory of it.
Just like baking a cake, with EFT, you have a recipe. And it’s a very simple recipe.
The recipe consists of just three rounds:
Let’s break these up!
This should be something that is creating emotional, energetic, spiritual, or physical pain and or stress in the present moment.
You want to be as specific as possible. Yes, you could totally tap on the stress of your launch. Or you could get even more detailed and really pinpoint what’s going on.
So for example, you could say, “I only have one person signed up for my group program and I’m totally freaking out. I’m wondering if I’ll ever be successful. And this thought is making me feel frustrated.”
Once you’ve identified your target, we’re going to measure it on the intensity scale.
If working with a spiritual, emotional, energetic, or physical pain, ask yourself, “On a scale of 0-10 (0 being not much pain/angst/anxiety around the problem, 10 being outta control pain/angst/anxiety), what would I rate the intensity of the current problem?”
If working with a limiting belief, ask yourself, “On a scale of 0-10 (0 being I don’t believe this one bit, 10 being this is my current and complete truth), what would I rate the truth of this belief?”
The setup statement formula is:
“Even though _______________________ (insert the problem, feeling, limiting belief, or circumstance you’re experiencing), I deeply and completely love and accept myself.”
You’re going to say your setup statement out loud three times while tapping on the point on the side of your hand (pictured in the graphic below).
For example, you could say, “Even though only one person has signed up for my launch and I’m feeling really frustrated, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.”
You could also say, “Even though I feel like I’m going to never make money again, I deeply and
completely love and accept myself.”
Whatever is really present for you say that out loud at least three times while tapping on the point on the side of your hand.
As you go through the Tapping Points Sequence (pictured in the graphic below), you will state the Negative Reminder Phrases out loud (aka the thoughts, feelings, beliefs, or circumstances that are present that are causing you pain).
You can either plan them out ahead of time and write them out or you can choose to intuitively speak them out loud as you go.
If you’re feeling stressed about your launch, the negative reminder phrases could be:
As you’re saying these, remember that you really want to stay present with the energy around the pain so that you can work on transmuting and releasing it.
Begin to tap through the Tapping Points Sequence, saying the Negative Reminder Phrases on each point.
The points are:
Eyebrow (EB) – right where your eyebrow begins, closest to the bridge of the nose
Side of the Eye (SE) – on the bone directly along the outside of either eye
Under the Eye (UE) – right under where your pupil is if you’re looking forward, on the bone directly under either eye
Under Nose (UN) – the area directly beneath the nose and above the upper lip—you might want to make like your top lip is covering your top teeth so you can get good access
Chin (CH) – the area just below your bottom lip and above the chin, right in the crease—you can move your bottom lip over your bottom teeth to get in there good
Collar Bone (CB) – starting from where your collar bones meet in the center, go down an inch and out an inch on either side
Under Arm (UA) – on your side, about four inches beneath the armpit, use all four of your fingers or palm to tap and really tap it
Top of Head (TH) – on the crown of your head, stimulate your whole crown
Remember to stay present with the energy around the pain/emotion/belief so you can work on transmuting and releasing it.
After you go through a round of the Tapping Points Sequence, take a deep breath in and release it.
Ask yourself what the intensity of the pain/feeling is now, or how “true” the belief feels.
If it’s now a 5, awesome! Keep going until it gets down to a 1 or 0 (if possible).
If the feeling is now a 5 and has actually changed from let’s say sadness to frustration, start the next round of tapping around the frustration (be sure to check in about what the level of frustration is on a scale of 0 to 10).
If after multiple rounds you are still at a 1-3, then you can tap on the remaining problem.
Now, you will Identify how you desire to feel instead.
For example, you could say, “I desire to feel confident and know that everything is working out for my highest good.”
Write this target down.
When you move into the Suggestions, you can take note of how much you believe your new desired reality is possible or how much you believe the new truth on a scale of 0-10 (0=don’t believe it at all; 10=I know this is 100% my truth).
For example, this could sound like, “On a sale of 0-10, how much do I believe the statement, I am confident and know everything is working out for my highest good?”
As you go through the Tapping Points Sequence, you will state the Positive Suggestions out loud (aka the thoughts, feelings, beliefs, or circumstances that you’re desiring to call in).
You can either plan them out ahead of time and write them out or you can choose to intuitively speak them out loud as you go.
If you’re feeling stressed out about your launch, the positive reminder phrases could be:
Begin to tap through the Tapping Points Sequence, saying the Positive Suggestions on each point.
Feel free to go through as many rounds of the suggestions as you desire, making sure that you’re staying present with the energy around what you desire to call in.
Finally, after you feel complete, take a deep breath in and release it.
Take note of how you’re feeling and how much you believe all of these things to be true.
